exmresultsGCSE results in the school have reached a new all time high. 81% of all exam entries resulted in a grade between A* and C, an increase of 10% on last year. This year the comparable national GCSE pass rate is 69.8%.Over three out of ten results in the school was either an A* or A grade.  Congratulations to all our year 11 pupils who received their results on Thursday 25th August 2011.

75% of pupils gained 5 or more GCSEs passes, including English and maths, at A*-C grades. This is 6% more than last year's record high and represents a major increase in the upward trajectory we have seen year on year in the school. 90% of all pupils ended up with 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C grades, a remarkable achievement. Overall, pupils have produced an outstanding set of results.

Government "League Tables" comparing schools using a number of performance indicators, primarily the percentage of pupils gaining 5 or more GCSE at grades A*-C and the percentage of pupils gaining 5 or more GCSE at grades A*-C including English and maths, will not be available until January 2012, however we are confident that our results will place us very high in such tables.

In English 88% of the pupils gained a grade between A*-C, in maths the figure was 77%. Both subjects are up on last year and a new record for each subject.

The Headteacher, Mr Anthony Perrett said

"These results are fantastic."

"The pupils and teachers have worked very hard to achieve them. These results show that the school does not rest on its laurels and despite achieving record results last year, the teachers continue to strive for even higher levels of performance. Well done to all concerned."

Overall subject summary figures are still being verified and will be shown on the website as soon as they are available.

Our highest performing pupil this year was Humza Hussain who achieved 13 GCSEs, 10 at A* grade and 3 at A grade, as well as taking and passing A-Level maths, a remarkable set of results. Many pupils, too many to mention by name, achieved 10 or more GCSE passes at A* or A grade.
