Do you remember The Honeycombs?

The Honeycombs were a sixties pop band who had a number 1 hit in 1964 with "Have I The Right" and also a number 12 with "That's The Way", as well as several number ones in other countries notably Sweden, Japan, and Australia.

They were famous for having a female drummer.

But did you know that three of the original five members of the group came to Sidney Burnell school?

Honeycombs_Original_LineupHoney (real name Anne Margot) Lantree, the female drummer, her brother John Lantree the bass player  and Martin Murray the guitar player all went to Sidney Burnell Secondary Modern. The Honeycombs were a Waltham Forest band with Martin living in Woodford Green and Alan Ward living in Chingford.
