exmresultsAnother outstanding set of results for Highams Park students.

98% of all our A-level entries were passes this year. 43% were higher grade passes.

A wonderful result of all the hard work put in by the students and their teachers.

Nineteen individual A-level subject courses achieved 100% pass rates

50% Further Maths entries awarded grade A*/A, the rest grade B

100% pass rate in Btec national qualifications.

Congratulations to all those 6th Form students who got their A-levels, AS levels and BTec Nationals results on Thursday 15th August 2013. Once again the students and teachers produced some excellent results.

oxbridge2Most students are going off to take up their university places in the new term as the vast majority achieved results they needed. We don't know yet the final university destinations of all our students and will update this page once the information has been gathered.

Three of the four students who had provisional offers from Oxford and Cambridge Universities achieved the grades required and will be off soon to take up their place.

sarah cooper-lesadd

Our top performing star student this year was Sarah Cooper-Lesadd who acheived the top A* grade in all three of her A-level subjects and will be taking her place at Cambridge University in the autumn.

She was closely followed by Jordan McQueen and Mala Sanghera-Warren who both achieved two A* grades and one A grade in their three A-level subjects. Many others also achieved 3 A grades, some with an A* grade.

A special mention must go to Humza Hussain who gained 5 A-levels during his 6th form career, 2 at A* grade, 2 at A grade and 1 at B grade.

The A* grade was introduced in 2010 to stretch the brightest students and help universities differentiate between the best candidates. To get an A* grade in an A-level exam, a student has to score an A overall for the two year course, plus at least 90% in each paper in the second year of the course

A-Level Results

results 2013 07

196 students received their A-level results on Thursday who, between them, took nearly 500 exams. 98% of all these entries were passes with 43% at the highest 3 grades of A*, A or B. Last year the equivalent figure was 33%. Nationally the A-level pass rate was 98.1%,  Year on year our overall pass rate and our higher grade pass rate  is similar or better than the national picture.
