6th Form Students who re-sat their English Language GCSE in the 2016/17 academic year

At the start of 2016/17 Academic Year eighteen students did not have a C/4+ in GCSE English Language. By the end of the 2016/17 Academic Year ten of the eighteen students (55%) had a C/4+ in GCSE English Language.

In November 2017 English Language Re-Sit – 33 Highams Park Students sat the English Language GCSE Re-sit Examination, 14 of these students (42%) obtained a grade 4 or above.


GCSE Maths

6th Form Students who re-sat their Maths GCSE in the 2016/17 academic year

At the start of the 2016/17 Academic Year 29 6th Form Students did not have a C in Maths GCSE. By the end of the 2016/17 Academic Year eight out of the 29 students (28%) had a C in GCSE Maths.

In September 2017/18 34 6th Form Students did not have a 4 or above in GCSE Maths, from the November 2017 Maths GCSE Re-sit exam 9 students (26%) obtained a 4+ in the November 2017 GCSE Maths Re-sit.


Year 12 into Year 13 Retention

Retention from Year 12 to Year 13 was 16% higher in 2016/17 - 2017/18 academic years compared to the 2015/16 - 2016/17 academic years. In July of 2017 there were 187 students in Year 12, 162 of these progressed into Year  13 giving a retention rate of 86%. The retention rate of students in Year12 in the 2015/16 academic year progressing into Year 13 in the 2016/17 academic year was 70%, a 16% increase in Year 12 to Year 13 retention when comparing the 2016/17 Year 13 cohort with the 2017/18 Year 13 cohort.

Higher Education Success

Of a Year 13 cohort of 153 in 2016-17, 124 were placed at University (81% progression onto higher education that is university based) with 25 going to Russell Group institutions (20% of Year 13 students who went to University went to a Russell Group Institution)
