In addition to the requirements below each student will need to achieve a minimum of a Grade C (or the numerical equivalent) in 5 of their GCSE subjects.

D Dance (A level) GCSE Dance grade 5 and GCSE English Literature grade 5.
  Design & Technology (A level) GCSE Design & Technology: B or higher
  Drama and Theatre Studies (A level) GCSE Drama grade 5 and GCSE English Literature grade 5.
E Economics (A level) GCSE English (Literature or Language) and Maths grade 6.
  English Language (A level) GCSE English Language: grade 5
  English Literature (A level) GCSE English Literature: grade 6
F Film Studies (A level) GCSE English Language grade 5, or GCSE English Language grade 4 and English Literature grade 5.
  French (A level) GCSE French: grade 5

  Government & Politics (A level) GCSE History grade 5 or GSCE English Literature grade 5

  Health & Social Care (BTEC) 5 A* - C / 4 – 9 GCSE grades including a minimum of a 4 in either English Literature or English Language.
I IT Technicals/Cisco (BTEC Double) GCSE Maths grade 5 and GCSE Computer Science grade 4.
  IT Technicals (BTEC Single) GCSE Maths grade 5 and GCSE Computer Science grade 4.
M Maths (A level) GCSE Maths: 7 or higher.
  Further Maths (A level) GCSE Maths grade 8. Students with a grade 7 will be considered upon successful completion of an entrance exam.
  Media Studies (A level) GCSE English Language grade 5, or GCSE English Language grade 4 and English Literature grade 5.
  Music (A level) GCSE Music is advantageous, a genuine interest in music is essential as well as Grade 5 or above in instrument or voice. Being able to read music and be taking separate lessons on an instrument or voice is essential.
P Philosophy (A level) GCSE English (Literature or Language) grade 6.
  Physics (A level) GCSE Physics grade 6 needed if a student has completed Triple Science,

Or if a student has done GCSE Double Award Science grade 6, 6 and GCSE Maths grade 7

Or students with a grade 7 in Physics (or 7, 7 in Double Award Science) will require a minimum of GCSE grade 6 in Maths

  Psychology (A level) GCSE English (Literature or Language) grade 6 and GSCE Maths grade 5.
S Sociology (A level) GCSE English (Literature or Language) grade 6
  Sport (BTEC) GCSE PE grade 5 / Merit or higher in Sport BTEC Level 2 or 5 A* - C / 4 – 9 GCSE grades including a minimum of a 4 in either GCSE English Literature or English Language.

Courses Information

AS Levels These are designed to be one year courses; the first year of A Level. The assessment is designed to be appropriate for a student having undertaken only one year of study.
A Levels These are two year courses. Due to national reforms, A Level subjects will now be assessed only by exams at the end of the second year of study.
BTEC Programme We offer the Level 3 BTEC Diploma in IT Networking, Business, and Sport. The Diploma (worth two A Levels) can be studied in combination with 2 other AS Level subjects in Year 12, or the Subsidiary Diploma in IT (worth 1 A Level) can be studied alongside 3 AS Level subjects in Year 12.
GCSE Programme All students must resit English Language or Maths GCSE if they have not attained at least a Grade 4 prior to entering the 6th Form.
