exmresultsCongratulations to all our year 11 pupils.

Year 11 students at Highams Park School have followed last week's A level success with superb achievements of their own at GCSE level.

Pupils received the results of all their hard work for their GCSE exams today Thursday 25th Aug 2016.

75% of students achieved 5 A*-C grades including English and Mathematics, 78% of students gained two A*-C Science GCSEs, 78% of students taking a Modern Foreign Language achieved A*-C and a fantastic 31% of students achieved the English Baccalaureate from 46% of entries (last year's EBacc national average was 24%).

68.6% of all GCSE exams sat in school were passes at grades A* to C, nationally the figure was 66.9%.

Over 20% of the grades awarded to Year 11 students were at A* and A.

Our top performer in this year's cohort was Robyn King who achieved a magnificent 11 A* and 1 A and is looking forward to A levels in English Literature, History, French and Art.

Nazey Ozcan secured 8 A*, 3 A and 1 B and will move into 6th Form to take Biology, Chemistry, English Literature and Maths at A level.

Callum Sturgeon and Joe White both received 6.5 A* and 4 A grades and are now ready to embark on life in Highams Park 6th Form. Callum is studying Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Maths next year and Joe is doing A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

A further 14 students achieved at least 8 A/A* grades, including 6 A* for Sebastiano Bartolotta, 5 A* for Anam Salam and Eden Coleman, and 4 A* for Gemma Aldeen.

We are particularly proud of the students who have made the most progress from their staring points at the end of Key Stage 2 to getting their GCSE results at the end of Key Stage 4.

Vanessa Gray Allison made the most progress of the 215 students in her year group, achieving some fantastic outcomes that take her on to study A levels in Biology, Chemistry and History.

Catarina Do Nascimento Almeida joined Highams Park in Year 8 and didn't speak any English, but has excelled to achieve 1 A*, 6 A, and 2 B grades.
