19th March 2020 (4.45pm)

Dear Parent(s)

Re: Re: COVID-19

As promised, I would like to outline our plans for school opening tomorrow, Friday 20th March 2020.

Sixth Form students, Years 12 and 13 are invited to come to school between 8.30am and 8.50am to meet with their Tutors.  They will then be able to use the school’s Study Room facilities throughout the day and meet with any specific teachers that they need to, throughout the day.  They will be free to leave when they wish.

Years 7 and 10 should stay at home and work on the lessons provided for them on Firefly.  Any student in these Year Groups are welcome to come to school at lunchtime to collect or purchase food from the canteen.  If they choose to do so, they should be dressed in their full school uniform and sign in via the 6th Form entrance between the times of 1.25pm to 2.10pm.

Years 8, 9 and 11 should attend school as normal for their timetabled lessons.  We have attempted during this very disruptive week to provide each Year Group with the opportunity to meet with their teachers, and indeed their friends and therefore prepare for and support one another in what will be a very strange period of time.

I am aware, that I have bombarded you with messages on a daily basis, but could I please draw to your attention my message from earlier today asking you to indicate whether you fall into the category of a “Key worker”.  As I type this note, the Government have still not released the confirmed list of jobs that fit within this definition.  I will do my utmost to forward it to you as soon as it becomes available.

Many thanks for your ongoing support during this challenging time.

Yours faithfully

Mr Phil Grundy

Principal
