Dear Parents
As we start a new half term, I wanted to update you on a few matters.
Key Matters
- Students have returned to school and will continue to be asked to wear face masks whenever inside the school building. We will continue to review the necessity for this considering both the level of COVID infection as well as the promised announcement from the Government later on this week. It is pleasing to be able to report that our staff and student absence as a result of COVID is at its lowest for several months, so it would appear that we are heading in the right direction.

As you may have seen in the local press, one of the trees in Handsworth Avenue fell into the school property, causing significant damage to the 6th Form entrance gate and perimeter fencing. 6th Form students and any late arrivals should continue to enter the school via the 6th Form entrance, but should use the larger vehicle gate to some 10 meters further along the pavement to gain access to the site.
- Thursday 24th February 2022 will be the second of the reduced days for students in all Year Groups. The school will be closed to students from the end of period 4, and they will be dismissed from school at 1.25pm. Those students in receipt of free school meals will be able to collect and consume their meals either at break time or on dismissal from school. The third and final reduced day is planned for Thursday 7th July 2022
