Dear Parents

COVID-19 – Confirmed case of Covid

It is with regret that for a second day in a row, I am writing to you to inform you of a further confirmed case of COVID within our school community.  You will be aware from the messages that I sent yesterday of some general points additional to the generic letter, that I think it worthwhile stressing.  Today could I re-emphasise some of these points, as doing so will hopefully enable the school to operate safely and with minimal disruption right up to the end of term on Thursday 17th December 2020.  However, I would stress that this is only going to be possible with the full cooperation of every family in our community.

  • At the first sign of a COVID related symptom, please ensure that the person who is unwell and all other household members isolate, and that the person who is unwell goes to apply for a test.  The household MUST remain isolated until the test result is confirmed.
  • In some of the recent cases that I have reported to you, there have been students who have felt it necessary to isolate because of their proximity to the confirmed case as a result of social contact outside of school, either in the evenings or at the weekend.  Please can I ask that you impress upon your child the need to observe social distancing whenever possible, both at school and during their own social time.

End of Term and Christmas holiday information:

  • If your child develops COVID symptoms or tests positive for COVID within 48 hours of leaving school at the end of term, Thursday 17th December 2020,  please ensure that you continue to inform the school via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so that we can continue to inform students, who they may have been in contact with and the need to isolate.  Symptoms developing beyond 48 hours after leaving school, and the associated test results do not need to be reported to the school.  The NHS track and trace process will then take over and will instruct families, as to when they are able to return to school in the new year.
  • Departure times from school on the last day of term, Thursday 17th December 2020 will be as follows:
